Going to the supermarket

It's not that bad very often, but last weekend it happened and I'm not proud of it. I do have explanations, excuses ... the weather, work, stress, brain blockage, lack of motivation and probably pure laziness at times. But explanations and excuses won't feed us and living in a country where supermarkets are closed on Sundays standing in front of an empty fridge was a little frustrating.
How could it come that far?

The only thing I could do was order take-out food which is usually too salty for my taste or distract myself with a little browsing tour.
Can you imagine how I felt when I found the following items reminding me of groceries even more?

Let's start with a nice refreshing drink. Pink lemonade earrings by Katalina Jewelry. Much better than tap water!

How about some fruit next? Pixe's Treasure Chest has these beautiful mouth-watering peach earrings for you! I had a withered apple ...

I think honey would go very well with the peaches, don't you? I happened to stumble upon these copper stick earrings with cute honey-colored glass beads in the shop of Northern Girl Jewelry. Mmmh, honey.

One of the most important things I need is milk. Now I wonder why this cuff by BeadsBeadingBeaded reminded me of milk? Think it could have been the cow?

Great, after this tour I was even more hungry than before and I wondered what would be cooking at my Mom's place ......... ;-)

P.S. There's no need to send Care packages. I exaggerated, just a little.

Eye Candy: Focus on Tourmaline

Sometimes we like to pick jewelry to match our outfit, or just because it is pretty; other times we may want a little extra from our necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. Whether or not you actually believe in the metaphysical properties of gemstones, a little extra help just might be what you want some days. Tourmaline is a multi-colored gemstone that is said to have many different properties; in general it is supposed to calm the wearer, provide protection, and increase both focus and balance. It is also worn to promote self-assurance and goodwill.

Each specific color of tourmaline is said to have its own properties. Green tourmaline is believed to cleanse and detoxify the spirit; it is also worn to bring prosperity. Pink tourmaline just might promote compassion and love; wear it to help heal emotional pain. Black tourmaline is supposed to provide strong protection from negative energies; it reduces fears, obsessions, neurosis, and panic, replacing them with a calm rootedness. Blue tourmaline is said to be helpful with verbal, speech, and throat problems; wearing it just might enhance your mental peace and patience. Watermelon tourmaline is worn to heal old emotional pains and bring new emotional understanding.

Are you feeling the need to clam down and add balance to your life? Click on any photo to add some tourmaline to your collection. Even if tourmaline doesn't fulfill the metaphysical promises made on its behalf, we can guarantee than any of these pieces will add beauty to your life.

Quote Me – Henry David Thoreau

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

~Henry David Thoreau

In what direction have your dreams taken you?

Keep Calm and Carry On Ring by TwoSilverMoons on EtysHas your creative-dream taken the path you thought it would - or has it deviated along the way?

Are you living the creative-life you’ve always imagined – or does it continue to elude you?

Tiny Terrace Collection - Spring Dreaming by 2BellesBeads on EtsyOne piece of advice I have read is to write your dreams down. Or to speak them aloud to the universe. By putting your intentions out there, whether it be on paper or verbally, you are letting the universe know that you are (and will continue) to follow the path of dreams.

So, will you hold your head held high and live the creative-life you have imagined with no regrets?

Spirals, spirals everywhere

As kids we used to go to the small park near town hall, and being kids the biggest fun was to play in the mini fountains or balancing along the walls between the two bigger fountains, looking for freshwater snails. Most of them had a shell like a little tower, but on rare occasions we would find a flat-shelled one. We didn't know it was a different species and frankly we didn't care, to us they were special, so when we heard one of the others yell "I've got a queen!", we ran over there and everyone wanted to look at it and touch it before putting it back. Poor snails, they probably tried to hide when they heard our voices.

Today I am still fascinated by snails, their bodies and their shells. I could stare at a baby snail forever and since I am no gardener, I take pictures of snails gnawing on leaves instead of taking them off. May my neighbors forgive me.

It must be the spirals that attract me. I love spirals and I love to get lost in them. Please don't tell me that is some psychotic phenomenon! ;-)
In that mood I went to do another one of my team browsing tours and guess what I came up with ...

Antiqued sterling silver spiral earrings by Northern Girl Jewelry - isn't the combination of spirals and squares beautiful?

Swirls - metal clay bead on sterling silver necklace by Dream Some Designs. What this lady does with metal clay ... wow!

Artisan sterling silver pendant Chakra 2 by Galadryl Design - it almost looks as if this silver spiral is blooming in beautiful colors, don't you think?

Maybe the next time you pick a snail off one of your flowers, you won't just see the hungry little vermin, but one of nature's very own original designs?
