~Kahlil Gibran
Most natural diamonds are formed in high-pressure and high-temperature conditions well below the Earths mantle.
Time can be a bit like that for us - high-pressure and high-temperature.
Time Machine Beaded Stone by Gwen Beads
We all lead busy lives now. In between our paid jobs, our family/home-life and our craft, we never seem to have enough hours in the day to complete everything on our to-do lists.

But, when you stop and think... in a way we are a little like the diamond-producing coal...
How, I hear you ask?
We work hard, we play hard, we sometimes don't stop and listen to our bodies messages - we put ourselves under a constant pressure "to-do".
And then there is an almighty eruption - our temper gets the better of us, we seem to be in a constant grump, we get sick.
Not exactly diamond material I know, but it takes deep volcanic eruption to bring a diamond to the surface - kind of like our own melt-down where you stop and re-assess your priorities, your needs, what makes you happy, your health.

So take the time, I dare you.
Take an afternoon to yourself. Farm the kids out to a friend, leave the housework, down tools - it will all be there tomorrow.
Take some time for yourself - after all, you are a diamond.

Thought provoking post...and lovely picks!
I like the way you think!
I like the way you think too. I made my Time Machine bead in hopes it would give me more time to do what I want to do. So far, so good. Thank you so much for posting it!
I love Khalil Gibran and this message like most of his words ring true...
